Учебник английского · Simple Present
Habits, facts and states
Use the Simple Present for repeated actions and routines: I walk to work every day. She calls her parents on Sundays. Time expressions such as every day, on Mondays, and twice a week make the repetition clear.
Use it for facts and general truths: Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius. The Earth moves around the Sun. It also describes stable situations and states: We live in Moscow. He knows the answer. I need more time.
Frequency adverbs usually come before an ordinary verb: I usually cook at home. They never arrive late. With be, place the adverb after the verb: She is often busy. Use the Present Progressive instead when an action is happening right now or is temporary.
